About us

German-Russian Raw Materials Forum

The German-Russian Raw Materials Forum (DRRF) is a dialogue platform in the field of scientific-technical cooperation in the raw materials sector of both countries. Due to Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine, the work of the German-Russian Raw Materials Forum has been ceased until further notice.

The German-Russian Raw Materials Forum (DRRF) was founded in 2006 by the TU Bergakademie Freiberg and the St. Petersburg Mining University, the two oldest mining universities in the world. In order to promote professional exchange, the DRRF has established German-Russian working groups on important jointly identified topics. These included the areas of hydrogen, cooperation in climate and sustainability research, recultivation of post-mining landscapes, and the digitization of the raw materials industry. The aim of the groups was the exchange of experiences between representatives from science and industry and the development of cooperation projects. The German-Russian Raw Materials Conference, organized by the German-Russian Raw Materials Forum alternating in Germany and Russia, brought together representatives from science and industry from both countries. The focus was on cooperation on future topics in the raw materials industry and on sustainable management. More information about the forum can be found on the following page: https://www.rohstoff-forum.org.

Due to Russia’s war against Ukraine, the work of the German-Russian Raw Materials Forum has been ceased until further notice.
