On October 25 - 26, 2022, WTZ e.V. together with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH organized a German-Algerian seminar on hydrogen infrastructure and its challenges as a partial event of an Algerian delegation trip in the framework of the German-Algerian Energy Partnership and the International Hydrogen Ramp-up Program.
The seminar discussed concrete scientific-technical challenges in transportation and storage infrastructure, as well as production of green hydrogen and material science aspects. It was also examined how these challenges can be solved and how the establishment of a concrete hydrogen cooperation can be technically implemented. The seminar concluded with a visit to the Hydrogen Lab Leuna, an electrolysis test platform at the Leuna chemical site, where innovative technologies for the production of “green” hydrogen and its use in sustainable synthesis processes are combined with an infrastructure of gas pipelines and gas storage facilities.
